The University of Chester Church of England Academy is a mixed school for 11-18 year olds, driven by the ethos of diversity, challenge and achievement. The Academy welcomes its first intake in September 2009. We open as an Academy in our existing buildings in September 2009. In 2012 we will move to a new state-of-the-art building with outstanding facilities that support our curriculum and specialisms, and which will act as a focus for the local community, playing an important role in helping to transform the opportunities available to local people and forms a key part in the regeneration of Ellesmere Port.
We are a Church of England school offering 1,350 places for local 11 to 18 year olds. With a Christian ethos, we are an inclusive school that welcomes children of the Christian faith, all other faiths and no faith.
The Academy provides a new and exciting place to learn, offering students the opportunity to fulfil their potential through the wide range of curriculum subjects on offer. Our specialisms are Maths and Sport with Performance, which will help all students develop their skills and knowledge for further study or employment. We deliver an innovative and inspiring curriculum to students of all abilities and we have a first-class team of dedicated staff, who will strive to ensure that all students realise their full potential.
The school is the first academy in the west of Cheshire, which has attracted a multi-million pound Government investment. Our sponsors are The University of Chester, the Diocese of Chester and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
