North Wales is a lovely region. It’s scenic, fantastical scenery has made it onto feature films and high production value television, and it’s high adrenaline attractions such as Zip World and Bounce Below make it any self-respecting thrillseeker’s dream destination. For those that favour a slower pace, there’s also a variety of gorgeous walking and cycling routes that are more than satisfactory, to even the most seasoned of travellers that’ve seen all the world has to offer, but still have a special place in their hearts for Snowdonia and the surrounding region. Not to mention the obvious – North Wales has come full circle from it’s humble mining roots to offer some of the loveliest places to stay in the UK. For example, there’s a few wonderful Hotels in Betws y Coed that are a must for any hotel buff.
Yet what about places to eat? We’re very happy to report that North Wales, most specifically Llanrwst, has a great few restaurants that are worth a trip over, whether you plan to stay or not. Most specifically, the Lle Hari in Llanrwst features fantastic, locally sourced and expertly prepared fare, in a gorgeous setting that shows much care and consideration in regard to it’s friendly, busy, happy decor – yet not even a glimmer of the pretentiousness that ruins a dining experience for most of us. At the Lle Hari in Llanrwst, there’s a great variety of choice, great value, and it shows that real effort goes into every single part of their menu.
How about a starter of chicken liver pate served with melba toast, caramelised red onion chutney and greens? Or for the vegetarians among us, a deep fried chili infused brie served on a bed of rocket, and drizzled with a flavoursome red wine reduction? The mains at Lle Hari are truly deserving of their “mighty” moniker, and you’ve tons of choice. How about homemade sweet tomato and beef lasagne, with a green salad bowl and garlic bread? Or our favourite, a 28 day matured Welsh rib eye steak, served with onion rings, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and a homemade slaw, with the choice of creamy and cheesy dauphinoise potatoes or the more traditional home cut, double cooked chips?
Vegetarians don’t have to feel left out with Lle Hari’s speciality vegetable curry, served with half rice, half chips, and mango chutney. Poppadums, of course, are included. Alternatively, how about a satisfyingly spicy piri piri sweet potato burger, served with fresh avocado, tomato salsa, and southern fried wedges?
At the Lle Hari, Vegetarians certainly don’t go wanting. The talented team of chefs create beautiful meals that are certainly worth writing home about, whatever your tastes. The Lle Hari Restarant is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 until 9:00pm.
