Choosing the right holiday home and park goes a little deeper than just the location. It’s a highly important decision, and a holiday can often be made or broken by little things. Whether staying or buying a holiday home, you’re also buying a lifestyle, and isn’t anything to be taken lightly especially when purchasing holiday homes and lodges for sale north wales. The surroundings here are beautiful, and the following factors should be considered when looking to buy or rent a holiday home within North Wales.
Don’t get hung up on Amenities:
Of course, when we chose our actual homes, we put a lot of effort into proximity to amenities. Who, after all, would buy a brick and mortar home that’s 20 miles or so from the closest school? Even the biggest bargain of a house can seem a bad idea with convenience not part of the deal. But does the same really apply to Holiday Homes? Not really. It might seem a surprise, but a holiday home can be just around the corner from conveniences like supermarkets, or miles away from anywhere. Don’t restrict yourself with tethering yourself to civilization. You’re on holiday!
The Local Area:
Not to be confused with what we mentioned about amenities- having attractions and places to visit are integral to a holiday. Being less than 3 miles from a supermarket is not. No matter how pretty or scenic a park, most people don’t want to spend the entirety of their holiday in one. Places like Snowdonia and Bethesda are some of our favourite places in the world because they’re not limited to being interesting in certain seasons. Snowdonia offers a fantastic array of things to do and see all year around, and as such, also has some really amazing parks. One of which even has a Country Club and unique access to the river Ogwen!
Put some consideration into Travel Time:
We generally feel that a travel time of one and a half to two hours feels (for us!) like we’re on holiday. We’re far enough for the land, scenery, sights and surroundings to be different, but we’re not so far that the travelling time seems like an ordeal in itself. A really good tip we’d like to pass on is considering fuel. Obviously, the further you travel, the more expensive your holiday will be. This of course affects how much you’ll use your holiday home. How do you feel? Are you the sort of person that would like to go on a blowout holiday to the other end of the country once a year? Or are you the type of person which wants to go on breaks to places around 2 hours away 4-6 times a year? Knowing your expectations helps a very great deal when it comes to choosing a holiday home.
Future-proof your Facilities:
What sort of facilities are right for you and your family? How will your family grow with them? While childminding, funfairs, pubs and arcades might be the best thing in the world for young families, it can turn very old very quickly as your family starts to grow up. A holiday home of course is an investment for a long time to come, and growing out of a park can often make the whole idea seem a waste of money. Make a list of everything important to you; and everything you hope a prospective park will offer. Go in advised, and with a plan, and don’t settle for second, third, or fourth best.
Speak to other owners:
We love holiday parks because they feel like they have a real community feel to them, and aren’t anything like going abroad, and only speaking to people in order to tell them that the lounger they’ve just put their towel on is yours. Parks aren’t that. As you wander around the park, do you feel happy and comfortable? Speak to other owners, and get a real idea of how a park is run, how problems are dealt with, and what it’s really like to stay.
